- "Ronja Star is a state-of-the-art well boat that will look after fish welfare, biosecurity and the environment in a sustainable and future-oriented way. We live by and from the sea, and that sets the standard for how these boats are designed and operated, says Robin Halsebakk, general manager of Sølvtrans.
Ronja Star is equipped with state-of-the-art closed technology, which means that fish can be transported with the highest degree of biosecurity. The vessel is also equipped with a cooling system where the transport water can be cooled to ensure the best possible conditions for the fish during transport and the highest possible quality of the fish.
"In this project, the local value creation is large. The boat was built at the local shipyard Myklebust in Gursken, equipment and services worth several hundred million are bought from Norwegian suppliers. We also use local suppliers, including the convenience store on Sandsøya for the delivery of provisions”, continues Robin Halsebakk.
